Ray was a longtime member of Lindale Assembly of God and retired from Houston Shell and Concrete after 35 years of service. He was survived by his wife Eunice Inez Browning Bond, and one daughter and one son, and four grandchildren.

Ray Eugene Bond was born in Mississippi. He was the youngest child of Jefferson Davis Bond and Mary Caroline Holcomb. The family moved to Texas during World War I, and farmed in Montgomery county, before building a home in Aldine, Harris County, Texas.
