Mary Caroline Holcomb was the daughter of James Madison Holcomb and Elizabeth Jane Hargrove. Mary was the wife of Jefferson Davis Bond; they were married March 15, 1883 in Covington County, Mississippi. She was the mother of 16 children. Six died young and were buried in Corinth Cemetery near Purvis, Mississippi. Dave and Mary and all their living children moved to Texas during World War I, except for one son, Homer, who remained in Mississippi.
Mary and Dave had a large number of grandchildren in Texas and in Mississippi, and nieces and nephews as well. All her life, Mary enjoyed coming back to visit her family in Mississippi.
