Willis Quinton, 76, of Quinton, Oklahoma passed away May 26, 2011 at his home in Quinton. He was born August 10, 1934 in Quinton to James and Ellen (Floyd) Quinton. Willis married Lora Crain Quinton in November 22, 1954 and lived in Bascom Community until his death. He was a rancher and worked at Southeast Transmission at Quinton for 13 years then worked at Franklin Electric until his retirement in 1997. He was a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation and attended Greater Refuge Church in Quinton. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Lora of the home; three sons, Willis F. Quinton and wife Diann of Quinton, James L. Quinton and wife Denice of Kinta and Paul W. Quinton and wife Dana of Quinton; three sisters, Myrtle Mann, Lovica Blackwood and Hazel Soden, all of McAlester; grandchildren, Eric Quinton and wife, Ariel of Broken Arrow, Rebecca Hogan of Quinton, Amanda Quinton of McAlester, Riley Turpin of Norman, Daniel Quinton of Quinton, Hedie Nelms and husband Vance, of Stigler, Emily Quinton of Quinton; Nick Quinton of Kinta, Valarie Quinton of Seattle, Washington, and Kaycee Quinton of Quinton; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ellen Quinton; five sisters, Lillie Henson, Mary Palmer, Alice Shipley, Ethel Ashmore, and Narcis and eight brothers, Avery Quinton, Hester Quinton, Bill Quinton, Farrell Quinton, Jim Quinton, and three infant brothers. Graveside services will be 10:30 am Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Quinton City Cemetery with Rev. Justin Monks and Rev. George Mantooth officiating. Burial will follow in Quinton City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler. Pallbearers will be Eric Quinton – Daniel Quinton – Nick Quinton – Rick Mann – Gary Henson and Sherman Stockton.
