She was the 4th child of Phillip & Elizabeth Burbach, whose twin, Daniel, died young. She was baptized Anna Susanna in her parents home with her twin and younger brother Philip in 1789, witnesses Peter & Maria C. Graff (1) in Londonderry Twp., Bedford Co., now Northampton Twp., Somerset Co., PA. the same farm. Her husband, Jacob, was a farmer in Southampton Twp., Somerset Co., PA. then between 1830 and 1840 they moved to Berlin, PA. where be became a cabinet maker and in his later years a weaver. Evidently Jacob wasn't a farmer for he soon gave it up to became a craftsman and one wonders if the family in Germany were craftsmen and tradesmen perhaps in the candy business since so many of Jacob's descendants became confectioners. All their children were born on the farm.
