GEORGE was the 5th son and 10th child (sic, see parent's memorials. Appears to have been the 6th son and 13th child)of PHILIPP BURBACH. After his father's death, when the farm was divided into 3 parts and put up for public sale, George bought, on August 16, 1817, the No. 3 piece which contained 160 acres for $282.00 (1). This was known as the lower farm since it was down the hill and across the road from the main part of the farm. Here he built his home, married and raised his family. He married MARIA MULL whose father's farm adjoined the Burbach farm and who gave the land on which was built the log church and cemetery known as Mull's German Reformed & Lutheran Church. George and his wife were members of this church and communed there on April 16, 1835 and with their children, Uriah and Elizabeth, on June 14, 1852 (2). After his death his estate was administered by his two sons Andrew and Uriah. Six of his relatives had either borrowed money from him or received farm goods on credit for they settled their accounts with the administrators. The appraised value of his estate was $1005.00 (3). After George's death Jonathan, his 3rd son, bought out his brothers and sisters and became owner of the farm (4).
