Bauman paid quit rent on 8 acres of land in Germantown before 1734 (3) and it is believed that this Jacob arrived in Philadelphia aboard the Adventure Galley and took the oath on October 2, 1727 (4). He later moved to Lancaster Co. where his family was raised and his Sons went to serve their country. John Jacob Bauman (1749-1819) served in the Rev. War and his service proven by the D.A.R. and listed as a Rev. War Pioneer Ancestor in Somerset Co. (5).
One line of the Bauman's left Switzerland about 1540 going to Germany and it is thought that this Bauman family comes from that line (6).
