Jewel Jenkins was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1918 to Alva Mary Jenkins (Shaw) and Thomas Franklin Jenkins. His brothers were Herbert Franklin Jenkins, Thomas Whitman Jenkins, Ira Delmar Jenkins and Grady Jenkins.
Jewel was married to Elizabeth Jenkins for over 40 years, they had four children, two daughters Linda and Donna and two sons Jerry and Thomas Jenkins.
Jewel was an executive with The American Motors Corporation (AMC) in Detroit, Michigan for over 30 years. Although not formally educated - he became a successful businessman.
Jewel accepted Jesus as his Savior, just prior to his death at the age of 77.
