Grady Jenkins was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 7th, 1914 to parents Mary Alva Jenkins (Shaw) and Thomas Franklin Jenkins.

His brothers were Herbert Franklin Jenkins, Thomas Whitman Jenkins, Ira Delmar Jenkins and J. Jewel Jenkins.

Sergeant Grady Jenkins served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division during WW-II, which was involved in much fighting and great loss of life. Grady witnessed unspeakable horror, and things that no human being should be exposed to. Grady returned from war a very different and damaged man. No doubt that he suffered from severe PTSD, which was unknown at the time. His last duty station was the Camp Haan medical unit in California, due to his combat wounds.

Grady Jenkins was a very, very rough and tough person! I've met many tough people in my life - but, I've never met a man tougher than Grady Jenkins, he was a peculiar guy. No doubt that his combat experiences took a toll on his mind, heart and soul.

I hope you've found peace, uncle. God bless.

Grady Jenkins died alone at the age of; 57.

Freedom is not free!
