Obituary in The State, Columbia, SC, 8 Jun 1949: Mrs. Sallie Leile Amick, 75, of 4003 Lamar street, died at her residence at 2:30 Monday morning after a year of declining health. Mrs. Amick was born in Fairfield county on July 17, 1873, the daughter of the late J. A. Huffstetler, a native of North Carolina, and Amanda Dunn Huffstetler. She was a faithful member of St. Perter's Piney Woods Lutheran church near Chapin. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Amick; three daughters, Mrs. D. D. Price, Mrs. Samuel L. Koon and Mrs. Kenneth W. Mohr, all of Columbia; four sons, L. Monroe Amick, Claude G. Amick, R. Heber Amickand R. Ray Amick, all of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Amick of Ware Shoals; five brothers, W. D. Huffstetler of Chapin, James A. Huffstetler of Columbia, John L. Huffstetler of West Columbia, Robert A. Huffstetler of Prosperity, Charles S. Huffstetler of Newberry; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Lutheran of the Reformation a t 2 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Wynne C. Boliek, Interment will be in Macedonia Lutheran church-yard, near Chapin.Pallbearers will be six nephews, Horace Amick, Wilbur Huffstetler, Ellis Huffstetler, Lloyd Huffstetler, Elbert Huffstetler, and Maynardy Huffstetler. They are requested to meet at the Talbert Funeral home promptly at2:15 this afternoon. The body will remain at Talbert's until the time of the services.
