Pembroke - Mrs. Fannie S. Butler died at Hillhaven Nursing Home Friday after a long illness. She was a native of Tattnall County and had lived near Pembroke for 60 years. She was a member of the Pembroke Christian Church and a member of the CWF.

Surviving are her husband, Otis D. Butler of Pembroke; two sons, the Rev. C.M. Butler of Savannah and Willie Geiger Butler of Pembroke; three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Butler Greene of Pooler, Mrs. Janet Butler Newton of Homosassa, Fla., and Mrs. Loka Butler Tapley of Garden City; three brothers, Edgar L., James M. and Russell A. Smith, all of Claxton; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Pembroke, with burial in the North Side Cemetery.
