Services for Mrs. Effie L Owen, 72, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church of Childress. She died Wednesday in a Childress hospital. The Rev. Lemy Pike will officiate and burial will be in Childress Cemetery under direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home. She had lived in Childress for 55 years and was married to Odis Owen on Nov. 5, 1932 in Tell, Texas.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Patsy Cawthon of Big Spring, Texas, and Wynna Nell Green of San Jose, California; a brother, Leroy Maroney of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Birgie Owen of Dimmitt, Texas and Kathy Byrd of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
