Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Dana Moore, pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas
Mrs. Byrd was born in Roxton. She graduated from Carey High School and moved to Amarillo in 1945. She married Ernest "Ernie" Byrd on April 19, 1974, in Amarillo, Tx.
She retired from the Veterans Hospital after 31 years as an accountant. Before working at the VA, she was employed at Amarillo Air Force Base. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Katherine Hunt of Washington, Conn., and Janice Sahm of College Station; and six grandchildren.
