Earl C. Monn, 76, of 11383 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, in his home. He was in failing health for the past four years and critically ill for the past six months. Born July 29, 1914, in Fairview, Quincy Township, he was the son of the late Andrew H. and Edith (Wade) Monn. He and his wife, Helen A. (Needy) Cramer Monn were married June 22, 1973, and lived at the present residence for the past 11 years. His first wife, Mae (Miller) Monn died June 6, 1972. Mr. Monn was a member of the Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, where he served as a deacon for several years. He was employed by Landis Tool Co. for 42 years in the foundry, retiring in 1978. Following his retirement, he was employed parttime with Henicle's Market, Anthony Highway, from 1983 to 1987. He was a member of the Mercersburg Sportmans' Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Patricia M. Ziobrowski of Chambersburg; one son, E. Donald Monn of Waynesboro; two stepdaughters, Connie A. Fitz of Blue Ridge Summit and Beverly J. Cramer of California; three stepsons, Ronald C. Cramer of Shady Grove, Donald E. Cramer of Waynesboro and Dennis R. Cramer of Cascade; two granddaughters; six step-grandchildren; five sisters, Tressie Bryan and Thelma Beeler, both of Waynesboro, Olive Bonebrake of Greencastle, Addie Rock of Fairview and Ethel Mentzer, a resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home, Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Grove Funeral Home, with the Rev. Irvin T. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Social Services Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201; or Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church Building Fund, 7885 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
