Nellie M. Martin, 85, formerly of 571 Pratt Court Waynesboro, and widow of Charles O. Martin, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, in the Caledonia Manor Nursing Home, Fayetteville. Prior to entering the nursing home in December, she was a resident of the Wynbrier Retirement Home for two months. Born April 29, 1904, in Quincy Township, she was the daughter of the late Andrew H. and Elizabeth (Wade) Monn. Most of her life was lived in the Fairview area and she had lived at Pratt Court for eight years. For a number of years, she worked as a cook at various local restaurants and she was last employed at the Pennsylvania Lunch Room on West Main Street. Her husband died in December 1981. Mrs. Martin was a Protestant.
Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Lorraine O. Smith of Smithsburg, Md., Thomas H. Martin of St. Thomas, and Mrs. LaVera Wolff, Robert C. Martin, Earl J. Martin, Glenn O. Martin and Mrs. Kay Paquette, all of Waynesboro. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five sisters and a brother, Mrs. Addie Rock, Mrs. Thelma Beeler, Mrs. Tressie Bryan and Earl Monn, all of Waynesboro, Mrs. Ethel Mentzer, a resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home, and Mrs. Olive Bonebrake of Greencastle.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. John Huff officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
