OBITUARY
Harold D. Howell, 65, of Fishkill Road, Newfield, NY, died Saturday September 1, 1962, at Tompkins County Hospital, of cancer. Mr. Howell, formerly a farmer, had worked for the Grange League Federation, and then for Babcock Hatcheries, before retiring. He was a member of the Newfield Grange. He was born in Lockwood and had lived in the Newfield area for 38 years.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Areva Grover Howell, a daughter Mrs. Gertrude Howell Decker of Ithaca; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest Howell of Newfield, Raymond Howell of Pulaski, NY, and Ronald Howell of Whittier, California; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Voorhees of North Syracuse, and Mrs. Norma Allen of Lockwood; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was recently predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Irene VanZile, May 9, 1962.

Funeral services for Harold D Howell of Fishkill Road, Newfield, were held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, at the Allen Funeral Home. Rev. Leon Ditzell of People's Baptist Church, Newfield, officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Newfield, next to his daughter. Bearers were grandsons, Clarence [Teddy], James, and Eugene [Gene] Vanzile; and cousins Elmer Howell, Samuel Grover, and Harold Williams.
