Pioneer, 85 Dies In West Weber
WEST WEBER - Mrs. Mary Eliza Etherington McFarland, 86, life- long resident of West Weber, died Sunday at four - fifteen a.m. at the family home following a four month illness of causes incident to age. Mrs. McFarland was born July 19, 1862, in West Weber, a daughter of Thomas E. and Sarah Wheeler Etherington. On April 13, 1882 she was married to James R. McFarland, who died in 1932. She was a member if the L.D.S. church and was a teacher and counselor for many years in the Relief society. She was also affiliate with D.U.P.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: William A. McFarland, Murtaugh, Ida; Thomas A. and John M. McFarland, West Weber; Mrs. Laura I. Wade, Ogden; Mrs. Olive Maw, Mrs. Margaret Thompson and Mrs. Mary Knight, Plain City; 36 grandchildren and 54 great - grandchildren; also the following brother and sisters; George W. Etherington, Burley, Ida.; James A. Etherington amd Mrs. Esther McFarland, Ogden and Mrs. Henry C. Dance, West Weber. The body is at the mortuary, 3408 Washington. Services will be conducted Wednesday at two p.m. in the L.D.S. West Weber chapel by Bishop C. Milton Farr. Burial will be in West Weber cemetery.
