George W. Etherington -
BURLEY, Ida - George W. Etherington, 68, retired farmer, died Wednesday night of a heart attach which occurred while he was attending the Twin Falls Cowboys baseball game here. Born Oct 31, 1879, at West Weber, Utah, he moved to Heyburn in 1918 where he farmed. His first wife died in 1939 and on Sep 22, 1941 he married Jane Carter, Detrott, Mich. They moved to Burley in 1947. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints and served as a bishop for eight years while in Utah. he also was active in civic affairs here. Surviving are his widow, ten sons and daughters, Thomas, Walter and John Etherington, Burley; Lawrence Etherington, Sandy, Utah; Charles Etherington, Pocatello; Mrs. Myrtle Ramsey, Mrs. Elda Harding and Mrs. Kate Paulson, Burley; Mrs. Helen Maynard, Riverton, Utah, and Reta Williams, Blackfoot; 40 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother and sister, James E. Etherington and Mrs. Esther McFarland, Ogden. Funeral services are tentatively set for Monday and burial will be in the Heyburn cemetery, directed by the Payne Mortuary.
