One of six daughters/nine children of Joseph Kurtz Conwell and Hannah Belinda Boyd. Edna lived at home until her marriage in 1931 to Clarence L. McIlvaine of New Philadelphia. For many years she worked at the Latto and Conwell mill for her brother, Herbert, in Uhrichsville and later in life at the Sis and Sonny Shop, Uhrichsville. Edna and Mac raised Hester Armstrong, daughter of Edna's closest friend who died. Edna continued to live at New Philadephia after Mac's death until about 1970 when she moved to the Methodist Home at Sebring.
