PICHER OKLA.
Mrs. Alta Jane Sweeten, 79, 430 S. Treece St., died at at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Miami Baptist Hospital after a long illness.
Born Jan. 18, 1894, at Scammon, Kan., Mrs. Sweeten moved to Picher in 1917 from Joplin, Mo. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Picher.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Sweeten and Bob Sweeten, both of Picher, and Joe Sweeten, Tulsa; four daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Brizendine, Pittsburg, Kan., Mrs. Lucille Smith, Fairland, Mrs. Betty Barr, Picher, and Mrs. Patricia Pooler, Tulsa; a brother, Herbert Roland, Joplin; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Martin and Mrs. Jesse Morgan, both of Joplin; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced by Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Picher.

Services for Mrs. Alta Jane Sweeten, 79, 430 S. Treece St., who died Thursday at Miami Baptist Hospital following a long illness, will be at 10 a.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Picher.
The Rev. Ward Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Miami GAR Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Oren Petitt, Jack Petitt, Howard Spoon, Carl Patterson, Jack Kelly and Everett Mouriquand.
