Mrs. Bertha Ann Martin 80, 802 Murphy Ave., died at 4:05 p.m. Monday st St. John's Medical Center here where she had been a patient since Jan. 9.
Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 12, 1896 in Saginaw. She moved to Galena, Kan., as a child, and to Picher Okla. in 1917 where she resided until 1945 when she moved to Joplin. She married Andrew Martin Sr. March 22, 1920 in Picher, Okla. He died February 10, 1961. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Andrew Martin Jr., 2411 Annie Baxter Ave., Raymond Martin, of the home, and Charles Lloyd Martin, New Orleans, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Potter, Carthage Route 1; a brother, Herbert Roland, of the home; a sister, Mrs. Jesse Morgan, Galena; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena. The Rev. Dow Booe will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Kelley, Jack Pettit, Billy Sweeten, Manuel Koronis, Bill Sweeten and Howard Spoon.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
