The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on Nov. 16, 1984:

"Rude"

Funeral services for Phillip Kemmel "P.K." Rude, Jr., 73, of Rosenberg, will be held 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg with Rev. Don Meador and Rev. T. Walter Moore officiating.

Burial will be in W.O.W. Cemetery in Rosenberg.

Rude died late Wednesday night in his home in Rosenberg after a lengthy illness. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 25-year member of the Rosenberg Fire Department, the captain of the Rosenberg Pumper Team that won several state championships including the Seattle World's Fair and the Hemisfair in San Antonio, a member of the Royal Neighbors, the Circus Model Builders and Circus Fans associations, and past president of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

He built many homes, churches, and other buildings in this area.

Survivors include his wife, Winona Rude; a son, Larry Rude of Rosenberg; two brothers, Raymond Rude of Rosenberg and Albert Rude of Louisiana; two sisters, Corinne Reed of Rosenberg and Marion Maples of Webster.

In lieu of other rememberances, the family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg's building fund.

Funeral services were under the direction of Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Rosenberg. * * *
