The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on Thursday, April 10, 2003:

"John Albert Rude"

Graveside services for John Albert Rude, 84, of Kerrville, formerly of Rosenberg, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the Rosenberg Cemetery with Rev. Byron Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosenberg Cemetery.

Mr. Rude was born on June 25, 1918 in Rosenberg to the late Philip and Ethel Rude. He passed away on April 8, 2003 in Kerrville.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Clementine; sisters, Marion Maples and Corienne Reed; brothers, Philip Rude Jr.; Raymond Rude; and Lewis Rude; nephews, Raymond Rude Jr.; and Larry Rude.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Ted Maples of Webster; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He retired from Rude and Sons Hardware and Sporting Goods. He will be greatly missed by all.

For those wishing, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the charity of choice.
