The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on Monday March 1, 1982:

"Lewis Rude"

Funeral services for Lewis Rude, 60, of Needville and formerly of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg with Dr. Howard Gates officiating. Burial will be in W.O.W. Cemetery in Rosenberg.

Rude died Saturday in a Houston hospital. He spent most of his lifetime as a clerk with Rude & Sons, Inc. Hardware in Rosenberg. He was a volunteer Rosenberg fireman for over 30 years. He was active in various youth and civic affairs.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Rude of Needville, two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Korenek of El Campo and Mrs. Paulette Cupp of Alvin; two sons, Joe Phillip Rude of Lubbock and Lorne Rude of Needville; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Maples of Webster and Mrs. Corrine Reed of Rosenberg; three brothers, Philip Rude, Raymond Rude and Albert Rude, all of Rosenberg, and four grandchildren.
