WEBER CITY. Va. ------ Simon Roberts, 64, Route 3, Gate City died Sunday morning at Holston Valley Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was a native of Scott County and a retired employee of J.P. Stevens Company.
Survivors include his wife, Io Robert, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Pierson, Kingsport, and Mrs. Beth Robinette, Gulfport, Miss.; one son Don E. Roberts, Gate City; three sisters, Mrs. Bertie Wilkey, Mrs. Audrey Marcum, both of Kingsport, and Mrs. Edna Crumley, Knoxville; two brothers, Lloyd Roberts, Kingsport, Kay Roberts, Blackwater, Va.; five grandchildren.
Scott County Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral sevices for Simon Roberts will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the State Line Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Gonzalez and Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Holston View Cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday and it will be taken to the church one hour before services. Scott County Funeral Home is in charge.
