FUNERAL SERVICES FOR BELOVED AMBER LADY
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 14, at 1:30, at Amber, and at 2 o'clock at the Wayne Zion Lutheran church, for Mrs. Anna Siebels, who died at her home at Amber Thursday evening at 10 o'clock after a week's illness. Interment was made in the family lot at Wayne cemetery. The services were in charge of the Rev. J. Willms.
Mrs. Siebels was born Nov.21, 1861, in Marx Ostfriesland, Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian Rieken. She came from Germany with friends, which included Gerrit Janssen Siebels, who had been visiting the fatherland and to whom she was married on December 30, 1881.
They lived on the farm near Amber for more than 42 years, retiring to Amber about 14 years ago. Mr. Siebels passed away on February 8, 1934, at the age of nearly 85. Eleven children were born to them and all but three survive their mother. They are Mrs. Margaret
Folkers, Mrs. Ben Wroblewski, William, Carl, John Henry, Hanke, George and Rhinehard, all residing in the Amber community. There are also 24 grandchildren and one brother, William Rieken.
