SERVICES HELD FOR J. HENRY SIEBELS FRIDAY, FEB. 25TH
J. Henry Siebels, 75, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, in the Anamosa Community hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, at the Zion Lutheran church, Monticello, with Rev. Luther Wachholz in charge. Interment was in Wayne cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers included Carl Folkers, Harvey Siebels, John Siebels, Keith Ehlers, Clarence Siebels and Dale Albers.
He was born Jan. 8, 1891, son of Gerritt and Anna Rieken Siebels, Amber. Member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church, he was united in marriage to Anke A. Hayen April 11, 1912.
He attended Amber school and farmed in Wayne Township near Amber until 1946 when he moved to Anamosa. Following the death of his wife in 1949, he moved back to the farm.
He is survived by one daughter, Lucetta, Mrs. William Albers, Anamosa; three sons, Allen, Anamosa; Leeard, Cathedral City, Calif.; and Marvin, Overland Park, Kans; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Will, Anamosa; and George, Amber; one sister, Mrs. Ben Wroblewski, Central City.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one son and a daughter in infancy; his parents; three brothers and one sister.
