Rites in Wolbach For Hazel Borre --

Funeral services for Hazel S. Borre were held Tuesday, May 5, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach with Rev. Henry Yurk officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. Borre died May 1 in St. Paul.

Mrs. William Paulman, Jr. accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kolar as they sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Softly and Tenderly." Serving as casketbearers were Larry Fiese, Richard Fiese, Virgil Berney, Jr., William C. Berney, Scott Berney and Larry Paulsen. McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hazel S. Borre, daughter of Frank and Jeane Hensley Stratton, was born February 4, 1889 at Jerico, Missouri. She departed from this life on May 1, 1981 at St. Paul, Nebraka at the age of 92 years.

When a child of eight, Hazel and her family moved in a covered wagon to Cope, Colorado where she received her education and grew to womanhood.

On December 23, 1909 Hazel was united in marriage to William Borre at Cope. The couple later moved to a farm near Wolbach where they made their home until 1946, when they moved into town. William passed away in April of 1970, and Hazel continued to make her home in Wolbach.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wolbach.

She is survived by her five daughters: Mrs. Leland (Doris) Berney of San Gabriel, California, Mrs. Kermit (Lorraine) Moffett of Vista, California, Mrs. C. H. (Billie) Fiese of Gothenbuerg, Mrs. Virgil (Jeane) berney of Palmer, and Mrs. George (JoAnn) Kamper of Grand Island; two sons, Donald of Hanover Park Terrace, Illinois and Wayne of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Naomi) Hassig of Denver and Mrs. Rueben (Priscilla) Oman of Castle Rock, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Jude (Ona) Stratton of Denver; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; a brother, Jud; one sister, Mrs. Ora (Audrey) Cormican; two daughters, Mrs. Hurley (Vivian) Moffett and Mrs. Ronald (Wanda) Nelson; and three grandsons; Wayne Berney, Terry Berney and Lynn Wieser.
