Fern Dorothy Schriever, the daughter of John and Anna (Kolling) Schlamann, was born on March 19, 1926 on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on October 25, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 7 months, and 6 days.

Fern was baptized on April 11, 1926, at Salem Lutheran Church north of Superior, Nebraska by Pastor August Schultz and she was confirmed on August 27, 1939, at Salem by Pastor Ludwig Scholl.

Fern attended and graduated from Nelson High School. On June 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to Harvey Schriever at Salem Lutheran Church and to this marriage two children were born.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard in Hastings, Nebraska for 24 years. She was involved as a member in Rural Social Circle and the ELCW, both in Salem Lutheran and Good Shephard Lutheran Churches. Fern was an employee of Good Samaritan Village both in Superior and Hastings for over 25 years. She was a resident of the Kensington Assisted Living in Hastings for seven years prior to moving to the Good Samaritan Village.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters: Leona Anderson, Caroline Doering, Alice Wilken, Mildred Jensen; and one brother Walter Schlamann.

Fern is survived by her son Lynn Schriever of Wichita, Kansas and daughter Gayle Hoops of Hastings, Nebraska; two grandchildren Shawn Hoops, Miri Hamburger and husband Adam of Hastings, Nebraska; 4 great grandchildren Morgan, Jackson, Jadyn and Brady Hamburger of Hastings, Nebraska; and one sister Esther Schlamann of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friend.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from the Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior with Pastors Don Olson and Steven Peeler officiating.

Pallbearers were Jay Jensen, Jerry Jensen, Russell Andersen, Merlyn Andersen, Ron Meyer and Allan Houtwed.

Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials suggested to the Salem Lutheran Church.
