Mildred was one of eight children. She was baptized on April 21, 1934 by Pastor George Gundet (sic) and confirmed on August 12, 1934 by Pastor Charles Bunge both at Salem Lutheran Church, Superior. Mildred attended school at Daisy Dell #69 and graduated with the class of 1939 from Nelson High School.
She was united in marriage to Herbert M. Jensen on August 4, 1946 at Salem Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with five sons and two daughters.
Mildred lived in the communities of Nelson, Ruskin, Hardy, York and returning to Nelson, NE.
Mildred was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church's Salem & St. Paul's in Hardy, and was a member of the Lutheran Church Women.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Herbert on February 29, 1984, brother, Walter Schlamann, sister Leona Andersen Garrelts, Caroline Doering, Alice Wilken and an infant sister.
Survivors include her sons: John and wife Merideth of Clay Center, NE; Jesse and wife Carolyn of Superior, NE; James of Nelson, NE; Jerry and wife Gail of North Platte, NE; and Jay and wife Linda of Chester, NE; and daughters, Jolene Jensen of York, NE; and Serita Karmazin and husband Darold of Lincoln, NE; two sisters, Esther Schlamann of Superior, NE; and Fern Schriever of Hastings, NE; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, 2004 from the Salem Lutheran Church in Superior, NE with Pastor Dan Hays officiating. Music was congregational hymns with Sonia Schmidt as organist.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Darren Jensen, Jason Jensen, Sarah Jensen, Matthew Karmazin, Christopher Karmazin, Garrett Karmazin, Korynn Karmazin, Joel Jensen, Justin Jensen, Michael Jensen, Kevin Jensen and Jenilee Jensen.
Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Superior, NE.
Memorials may be given in care of the family.
