Walter L. Ameigh, 70, of 6256 Cicero-Bridgeport Road, Cicero, died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Syracuse, he lived in Cicero since 1949. He retired from the E.W. Edwards Company in 1980.

He was a member of Cicero United Methodist Church and the James H. Spire American Legion Post 787, Cicero.

Mr. Ameigh was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Syracuse Musicians Association, Local 78. and the All-American Banjo Band.

Surviving are his wife, Cynthia of Cicero; two sons, Kenneth and Danny, both of Cicero; a daughter, Diane Vollmer of Lysander; three sisters, Dorothy Coon of Syracuse, Clara Bell Kohlman of Brewerton and Marion Rein of Arizona; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Williams Funeral Home in Cicero. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 8261 S. Main St., Cicero.

Contribution may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Cicero Volunteer Fire Department.
