"Mrs. Jackson, 68, Dies in Indianola - Expires At Home Of Daughter Following Week's Illness of Pneumonia

Indianola, Ill., Feb. 2 - Mrs. Collista Jackson, 68, died at 8 o'clock, Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter Mrs. Wade Bennett. She had been ill of pneumonia only a week.

Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Billings and was born and reared near here. Her husband, Joe Jackson, died in 1927. Three sons also have preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Mrs. Addie Bostwick, of Hoopeston, and Mrs. Ruth Bennett and Everett Jackson, both of Indianola, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a member of Indianola Baptist church.

F. M. McCauley, of Sidell, is the undertaker. Funeral arrangements have not been made." - Danville, IL Commercial-News Thursday, Feb. 2, 1933

Another obituary read: "Indianola, Ill. - Funeral services for Mrs. Collistia Jackson, 68, who died last Wednesday night at 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Wade Bennett, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist Church here. Rev. Charles High officiated with burial in Michael Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson's death was caused by a combination of influenza and pneumonia and she had only been ill for one week. She had been a resident of this vicinity her entire life.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Billings. Her husband, Joseph Jackson, preceded her death in 1927. Three sons have preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Addie Bostwick of Hoopeston, Mrs. Ruth Bennett and Everett Jackson of Indianola.

She was a member of the Indianola Baptist Church. The funeral arrangements were in charge of F. M. McCauley of Sidell."
