Born July 6, 1915 deceased this life December 19, 1971 at the age of 56 years, 5 months, and 13 days. He was the son of the late W. H. Burke and the late Winnie West Burke. A member and deacon of the Bethalonia Baptist Church. He professed a hope in Christ in September, 1939 and united with the Bethalonia Baptist Church where he remained a faithful and dedicated member until death.
He is survived by his wife, Wilda Phillips Burke of Winfield, TN. Two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Mae Smith and Mrs. Eula Faye Blevins, both of Winfield, two sons, Luther Mitchell Burke of Oneida and Paul Timothy Burke of Winfield, two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Marcum of Oneida and Mrs. Alice Hamby of Winfield, seven half-brothers,T. L. Burke, Howard Burke, J. D. Burke, Jessie Burke, Creston Burke, and James Lester Burke, all of Oneida and Lewis Burke of Muncie, Indiana. Three half-sisters, Mrs. Connie Terry, Mrs. Elizabeth Barjall, and Mrs. Minda Ann Williams, all of Oneida. Stepmother Mrs. W. H. Burke. Ten grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. We feel sure our loss is His eternal gain. Funeral services wre conducted from the Bethalonia Baptist Church at 2:30 PM Tuesday December 21, 1971 with the Rev. Charlie Duncan and Rev. J. C.
