Parish Woman Buried Sunday
Mrs. Lemora Dortch Carr died Saturday night at her home on Route 4 west of the Ward 5 Elementary School. She was 51 years of age and the wife of J. L. (Jabee) Carr.
Funeral services were held at the Fellowship Baptist church in ward 5 at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. E. D. Smith in charge.
Interment was in the nearby Fellowship Cemetery under the direction of the Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Survivors beside her husband include one daughter, Mrs. Doc Flores of Houston, Texas; four sons: Ervin and Vaden Carr, both of Monroe; Varley and Arlin Carr, both of this parish; two brothers: Willie Dortch of Columbia and Jack Dortch, also of this parish; five sisters: Mrs. Lola Childress of Urania, Mrs. May Belle Kenworthy, Mrs. Verna Cosby and Mrs. Carrie Caldwell, all residents of near Columbia and Mrs. Cora Tisdale of Monroe and 10 grandchildren.
