FREEDOM - William Conover Hodgdon, SR; 81, died Aug 17, 1981, at a local hospital. He was born in West Milan, N.H., Dec. 4, 1899, the son of Samuel and Abigail (Scales) Fox. he worked most of his life as a dairy farmer. After he stopped farming, he worked for SAD 3. Mr. Hodgdon was a member of the Quantabacook Lodge, AF & AM, of Searsmont and a member of the Union Harvest Grange. He is survived by his wife, Helen Cushman Hodgdon of Freedom; one son, William C. Hodgdon, JR. os South Berwick; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Kincaid of Milford, N.H., Mrs. Margaret Davenport of Spring Lake, N.C., and Mrs. Patricia Cournoyer of Jaffrey, N.H.; one sister, Mrs. Sally Shores of Granby, Vt.; 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Coombs Funeral home, Belfast, 2-4 and 7-9 pm Saturday, Aug 29. Masonic services will be held 7:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 2:30 pm. Sunday with the Rev. Charles Heslam officiating. those who wish may make donations in Williams memory to the Mount View Fund for Further Education, Mount View High School.
