Mrs. Cleo Gladys Hawkins, 68, of 729 Hillcrest, Milan, Illinois, formerly of Granger, Missouri, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, Illinois after a long illness.

She was the daughter of James A. and Alice Billings Dochterman, and was born January 1, 1090 at Granger.

She was married to Edgar C. Hawkins, February 12, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. To this union was born one son, James, also two children by a previous marriage.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Edgar, her daughter, Mrs. Frank (Rose Mary) Hicks, Sherrard, Ill., three grandchildren, Brenda, Wanda, John Jr. Hicks, four brothers, Otho Dochterman, Luray; Clarence, Wyaconda; John and Robert, Arbela; and one sister, Mrs. Alvin (Helen) Brotherton, Luray, several nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ray Henry and James Clifton, her parents, one sister, Mrs. Wavie Waters, and one brother, Preston Dochterman.

She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church of Milan, Ill., Milan Chapter 326 O. E. S. and a past member of the Pythian Sisters of Milan.

Visitation was held at Larson Funeral Home at Milan, Monday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. with Eastern Star Memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Monday night by Milan Chapter No. 326 O. E. S.

Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Tuesday morning, April 12, at Larson Funeral home with the Rev. John Crede, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Graveside services were held at the Combs Cemetery at Luray, Missouri Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. with Rev. Virgil Kearns officiating. Body bearers were Allen, John Hr. and Ronnie Dochterman, J. C. Brotherton, Richard and Tom Billings.
