ASHBY - Forrest Morton Ashby, son of Robert M. and Nellie Ashby, was born at Watseka, Ill., March 19, 1894 and passed away suddenly at his home in Chariton, February 3, 1967 at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 15 days.
He came to Lucas County when a small boy and remained a resident until his passing. He was united in marriage to Zella P. Chappell on Feb. 7, 1915. To this union were born two daughters: Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Palmer and Mrs. John (Irene) Pavlik.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Zella; two daughters; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Chappell and a brother, Schuyler Ashby, both of Chariton; three granddaughters and four great-granddaughters and two sons-in-law.
When a young man he accepted Christ and was a member of the Oakley Methodist Church at Oakley.
He was a very kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather and will be greatly missed by a host of friends and relatives.
Services were conducted Monday, Feb. 6, 1967, at 1:30 p.m., at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor John Bauserman officiating. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
