Houston – Services for Vannie Dora Tackitt, 60, who died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at her home, were held Saturday at 2:30 pm at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gregg Thomas officiating.
Interment followed at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Tackitt was born June 19 1942, to the late Everett and Mary Inez McCluney Franklin.
She was a housewife and a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Leigh Ann Tackitt.
Survivors include one son, Frank E Tackitt and wife, Angela of Brandon; one daughter, Regenia R Higginbotham of Bruce; six sisters, Alice Blue and her husband, Billy, Clara Chapman and her husband, William, Hilda Jernigan and her husband, Paul, Rose Haire and husband, Wayne, Lynnette Collums, all of Houston, and Daphna Shempert and her husband, Billy, both of Houlka; and seven grandchildren, Kenny Tackitt, Conner Tackitt, Kirsten Tackitt, Carson Tackitt, Brittany Higginbotham, Jaeca Ivy and Crake Ivy.
Pallbearers were Curtis Jernigan, Kenny Tackitt, Chad Shempert, Chris Shempert, David Coleman, Keith Jernigan, Jerry Higginbotham, and Brad Edwards.
