HILDA JERNIGAN
HOUSTON Hilda Imogene Franklin Jernigan, 72, wife of Paul Jernigan of Houston, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Born April 29, 1936 in Chickasaw County, she was a housewife.
She was the daughter of Everett and Inez McCluney Franklin. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Vannie Tackett.
Visitation will be 5-8 tonight at Memorial Funeral Home of Houston.
Her body will lie in repose Tuesday one hour prior to 2 p.m. services at Parkway Baptist Church, where she was a member. Bro. Randy Rinehart will officiate. Burial will be in Chickasaw Memorial Gardens.
Other survivors include a daughter, Denise Tubb of Nettleton; two sons, Curtis D. Jernigan (Glenda) of Houston, Keith Jernigan (Margaret) of Houston; nine grandchildren, Heath Williams, Heather Hall, Michael Oaks, Stephanie Tubb, Alanah Tubb, Brian Moss,
Rebecca Pruett, Curtis Jernigan Jr., Mathew Jernigan; eight great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Alice Blue, Rose Haire, Clara Chapman, Lynette Collums, all of Houston and Daphana Shempert of Houlka.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Jernigan, Chad Shempert, Chris Shempert, Frankie Tackett, Ricky Moss and Joe Loftin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of her great-grandson, Grant Hall, to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1640 Lelia Dr., Suite 130, Jackson, Miss. 39216.
