Chambers County Pioneer Passes Away.

Last Friday afternoon, Charles E. Finney, pioneer citizen of Chambers County, passed away at his home near Penton.
The deceased was one of the most prominent and worthy citizens of Chambers County. Up until a short time before his death, he had enjoyed remarkably good health. He was 72 years of age at the time of his death.
Besides a widow, he is survived by several sons and daughters and two step-children. The three sons are C. F. Finney and W. L. Finney, of White Plains, and Phil Finney, of Penton, and one daughter, Mrs. Herbert McGinty, of Guntersville; also two step-children, Mrs. Chas. W. Lowe, of LaFayette, and Mrs. O. H. Finney, of Albertville.
The funeral services were held at the Milltown Baptist Church, where the deceased had affiliated with the church many years ago, and the services were conducted by Rev. B. B. McGinty, of Riverview, assisted by Dr. Arnold Smith, of Alexander City. Interment was in the Milltown Cemetery Saturday afternoon.
