Death of Mr. Egbert Finney.
Mr. Egbert Finney died at the home of his father, Mr. C. E. Finney, last Monday, and was buried at Rock Springs Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. C. Yeargan, assisted by Dr. W. C. Bledsoe. A large congregation of relatives and friends assembled to pay the last tribute of love and respect to the memory of this excellent young man. He was in the prime of life; if he had lived to the 1st day of the coming November he would have been twenty-six years of age. A member of Rock Springs Baptist Church since boyhood, he had lived a Christian life and when the end came he was ready for the call of God to enter the life beyond. Possessing many attractive qualities of mind and heart, he had friends wherever he was known. For several years he had been in feeble health, and spent several years in the West with the hope of growing strong and well. To mourn his death, he leaves his father, Mr. C. E. Finney, his step-mother, Mrs. C. E. Finney, a brother, Mr. Allie Finney and four half-brothers, Messrs. Charles, Walter, Bruce and Philip; Miss Minnie Lou, a half-sister, and Mrs. Omar Finney, of Albertville, Ala., and Mrs. C. W. Lowe, of LaFayette, step-sisters. The Sun tenders sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
