Fayola G. Baumgartner, 91, formerly of Geneva, died Friday in Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne. Born on Sept. 5, 1914, in Jackson Township, to Jasper Elvin and Christi (Berg) Pickett, she married Logan Samuel Baumgartner on Dec. 25, 1935, in Carmel. He died on April 6, 1970.
Retiring from CTS in Berne in 1987, after 17 years, she had also worked at the former Nussbaum Novelty. Memberships include First Church of the Nazarene in Berne and Limberlost Home Extension Club.
Survivors include two sons, David Baumgartner, Waco, Texas, and Phil Baumgartner, Perrysville, Ohio; a brother, Albert Pickett, Carmel; a sister, Harriett Pickett, Carmel; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are Friday at 2 p.m. in Swiss Village Chapel at Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne with Dr. Wayne Steury officiating. Burial will be in M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne. Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home and Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at Swiss Village.
