Albert B. Pickett, 91, of Carmel, IN, passed away August 3, 2009. He was born on February 22, 1918 to the late Jasper and Christianne Berg Pickett. He married Phyllis E. Risinger on August 1, 1941 and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on the Saturday before his death. In 1976, Albert became Carmel's first Mayor; however, the majority of his career was spent in the Aero-Space industry as a Quality Assurance Engineer field representative. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings and son, William Joe Pickett. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Pickett; daughter, Diane Smith; three grandchildren, Kelli Fivecoate, Katrina Hill and Russell Andrew Pickett; two great grandchildren, Russell W. Fivecoate and Brenna D. Fivecoate. Family and friends will gather on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel. A private funeral service will be held for family and Carmel Friends Church family.
