Cecilia A. (Arens) Gengler was born Feb. 9,1891, at Remsen, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Homan) Arens.
Her marriage to Nicholas A. Gengler took place Aug. 23, 1911. at Remsen. Mr. Gengler preceded her in death in 1956.
She moved from Remsen to Elkton, in 1933 and resided in Elkton until five years ago when she went to the Hendricks nursing home in Hendricks, Minn.
The last three years she has been a resident of the Brookview manor at Brookings.
Mrs. Gengler was a member of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic church in Elkton.
Survivors are three sons, Milton Gengler of Brookings; Arnold Gengler of Independence, Mo.; and Francis Gengler of Elkton; six daughers, Margaret (Mre. Charles. Hatlan) of Escondido, Calif.; Mrs. Loraine Steffen of Hager City, Wis.; Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Arcadia, Calif.; Mary (Mrs. Clem Adams) of San Leandro, Calif.; Rose Marie (Mrs. Robert McTague) of Aberdeen, S.D.; and Lucille (Mrs; Aut Seidl) of Sleepy Eye, Minn.; 35 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic church in Elkton. Burial was at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's cemetery, Remsen.
The Eidsness funeral home at Eltonwas in charge of arrangements.
