Was Pioneer Remsen Resident

Peter Arens, a pioneer will known through this section died at his home in Remsen Wednesday morning after an illness of seven weeks. He was 80 years of age, maintaining his vigor, helath and active habits until within a few weeks of his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Saturday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church at Remsen.

Mr. Arens is survived by a large family of children and grand-children.

He is uncle of the Schroeder family of Alton. Mr. Peter Schroeder was called to Remsen early Wednesday morning to assist in making funeral arrangements, while Miss Amelia Schroeder has been in the Arens home since Saturday caring for her uncle.
