Crowder Services Slated Thursday at Weatherford
Weatherford (Special) - Funeral services for Dr. Verner Fay Crowder, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Weatherford First Methodist Church.

Crowder, a chiropractor, died Monday morning in an Oklahoma City Hospital.
Born in Elm, Okla., July 29, 1892, he grew to manhood in that area. He attended Carver Chiropractic School in Oklahoma City graduating in Mar of 1921.

He lived with an uncle in Carnegie for a few months, then opened an office in Corn He married Miss Ella Mae Weichel in Colrey April 12, 1925.

He was in practice at Corn for 23 years before moving to Weatherford in 1946.
Active in Masonic work, he was a member of the Western Star Lodge of Weatherford, the Guthrie Consistory was a 32nd degree Mason, post patron of the Eastern Star, past worshipful Master of his local lodge.

He served in the Army during World War 1 in France.

Dr. Crowder had been in failing health the past few months. Rev Loren Banhes, Methodist pastor, and Rev. George Baker, pastor of the Red Rock Methodist Church will officiate at services, Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Verner Dewayne of Bethony, Eugene Dale and Bobby L both of Weatherford; six grandchildren, a girl he raised as his own daughter, Mrs. Malvery Wendt of Omaha, Neb.; a brother Elton E Crowder of Thomas, two sisters, Mrs. Anneda Williams of Walensburg Colo. and Mrs. Jewel Jones of Custer City.
