Mrs. Reuben Lowery, aged 63 years, of South Connellsville, died Sunday afternoon, February 11, 1923, at the family home following a long illness. She was born at Bear Run, a daughter of Z. R. and Elizabeth Stull Moon. She received her education in the Uniontown Soldiers Orphan school at Jumonville. On October 24, 1878, she was married to Reuben Lowery at Ohiopyle. She is survived by her husband and several children, John, with whom she made her home, Clyde, of South Connellsville, Bert, of Connellsville, Mrs. Laura Bell Woodmency, of Indian Head, Mrs. Mary Pike, of Leisenring No. 3, Mrs. Suzanna Morton, of Dunbar, and Mrs. Nellie Hyatt, of Leisenring No. 3. Three brothers and one sister also survive. They are Isaac and Z. S. Moon, both of Connellsville; John B., of McKeesport, and Mrs. Margaret Skinner, of Bear Run. Mrs. Harriet Koontz and Edward Scarlett, both of Bear Run and David Scarlett, of Birmingham, Alabama, a half-sister and half-brother, together with 17 grandchildren, also survive.

The remains will be taken to Whig Corner Church at Bear Run on Wednesday morning where services will be held. Rev. Francis J. Scott, pastor of the Connellsville United Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Internment will be in the Whig Corner cemetery.

Following a long period of illness Mrs. Huldah Moon Lowery, wife of Reuben Lowery of South Connellsville died Sunday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock. She was 63 years old. Mrs. Lowery's condition had been practically hopeless for a long time and though she rallied frequently, her strength did not remain. She was born at Bear Run, the daughter of Z. R. and Elizabeth Stull Moon. She received her education at Uniontown Soldiers Orphan School at Jumonville. On October 24, 1878 she married Reuben Lowery of Ohiopyle. After residing in Bear Run and Dunbar the couple came to South Connellsville about three years ago. Mrs. Lowery was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of the city. In addition to her husband she is survived by several sons and daughters. They are John, with whom she made her home; Clyde, also of South Connellsville; Bert of this city; Mrs. Laura Bell Woodmency, Indian Head; Mrs. Mary Pike, Leisenring No. 3; Mrs. Suzanna Morton, Dunbar; Mrs. Nellie Hyatt, of Leisenring No. 3.
