Albert E Lowery, 83, of 515 Newmyer Ave was dead on arrival at Connellsville State General Hospital at 4 pm Tuesday.

He was born May 29, 1893 in Stewart Township, a son of the late Reuben and Huldah Moon Lowery.

He lived most of his life in Connellsville, and was a retired B & O Railroad conductor where he had been employed for over 50 years. After his retirement he worked as a school guard. He was a member of the United Transportation Union, a charter and honorary member of the South Connellsville Fire Department, a member of the South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Knights of Pythias and a member of the Connellsville United Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alma B. Dushaw Lowery, with whom he celebrated his 61st wedding anniversary, May 29, 1976, one son, Albert Earl of Beaumont, Tex., one daughter, Mrs. Robert C (June) Moyer of Monroeville, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two daughters, Eleanor Alma and Helen Margaret, three brothers and four sisters.

LOWERY - Friends of Albert E. Lowery of 515 Newmyer Ave who died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1976, will be received from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home Inc, 111 Green St, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Friday with the Rev. William Popa officiating. Internment in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
