While working in the garden of the home of his son, Clyde Lowery of Chestnut street, Tuesday morning, Reuben Lowery, 76 years old, was stricken with a heart attack and died during the afternoon. He resided at 109 East Washington avenue.
Mr. Lowery was born at Dunbar, a son of the late Jacob and Susan Lowery and for 20 years had been a resident of Connellsville. He is survived by the following children: John, Clyde, Albert and Nellie of Connellsville, Mrs. R. W. Woodmency of Indian Head and Mrs. Curtis R. Martin of Dunbar; also 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Thomas Lowery of Youngstown, Ohio, and Samuel Lowery of Mount Braddock, and three sisters, all of Youngstown, Ohio.
A short funeral service will be held at the home of Mr. Lowery's son, John of 409 East Washington avenue, with whom he resided, Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, followed by a service at Hickman Chapel Baptist Church at Whig Corner. Rev. George R. Krupp, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church of which Mr. Lowery was a member, will officiate. The funeral will be in charge of Funeral Director Charles C. Mitchell.
