Z. S. Moon, 82, well-known resident of Connellsville, died at 10:30 o'clock Saturday night at his home in 121 South Carnegie avenue after a lingering illness. He was born May 25, 1864, in Stewart township, a son of the late Zachariah and Elizabeth Moon, and lived at that place until 1903 when the family moved to Connellsville, where they have lived since. Mr. Moon received his education at the former Soldiers Orphan School at Uniontown and later at Jumonville. He was married March 4, 1884 to Miss Florence Marietta of Mill Run, and the couple observed their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Moon was retired in 1913 after being employed for many years with the local Bell Telephone Company. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Surviving are his widow and four sons, Ira Moon at home, Alva Moon of Connellsville, Harry Moon of Cleveland, Ohio, and Leo Moon of Harrisburg. The last named is employed with the Government and is on his way to Guam in the capacity of that service. There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also surviving. A daughter, Estella Moon, died in 1910.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Milton V. Munk funeral home, where friends may view the body. Rev. Robert L Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Internment will be in Hill Grove Cemetery.
