Mrs. Florence Moon, 90, of 127 South Pittsburgh St., died in Connellsville State Hospital at 6:45 a.m. Sunday. She had been a patient there a week and had been ill about six weeks.
Her son, Ira J., 70, died in Veterans Hospital in Oakland, Pittsburgh, at 10:40 a.m. Saturday.
He was a bachelor and had made his home with his mother.
Mrs. Moon was born April 4, 1865, at Mill Run, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Marietta. She lived in Connellsville virtually all of her life.
A member of the First Baptist Church in South Pittsburgh St., Mrs. Moon was a member of the Berean Bible Class.
Surviving are three sons, Alva of this city, Leo of Harrisburg and Harry of Hudson, Ohio. Her husband, Z. S. Moon, died 10 years ago.
Mr. Moon had been in ill health about five years. A heart ailment was the immediate cause of death.
He was born at Mill Run. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Moon served with the transport department. He was a member of Milton L. Bishop Post No. 301 of the American Legion, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 503 and the First Baptist Church.
The Elks Lodge will meet at the Lodge Home in East Crawford Ave., at 8:45 o'clock this evening and will proceed in a body to the Munk funeral home in East Fairview Ave. to conduct a ritual at 9 o'clock.
A joint funeral service will be held at the Munk funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Harry O. Kline officiating. Burial will take place in Hill Grove Cemetery.
Members of the American Legion will meet at the Munk funeral home at 8 o'clock to conduct a ritual.
